Since BACnet is the international standard of ISO 16484-5, «BIG-RU» will start the work to become BACnet protocol as the Russian national standard in building automation.

There is a gap in Russian standards for building automation at the present time. ABOK (Russian HVAC association) is trying to fill this gap by adopting ISO 16484 standards. Already prepared ABOK standards (national standards) based on ISO 16484-1, 16484-2 and 16484-3 (in the work).

"BIG-RU" is the member of ABOK committee "Intelligent Buildings" and during 2006 the work on adopting BACnet standard will start. There should be negotiations with ASHRAE about the matter of the standard's body translation to Russian language.
