The excursion to the "Federation" Tower construction site / "Moscow-City"
(November 14, 2006)

On the 14th of November, 2006 the BIG-RU association had a great chance to visit the "Federation" Tower construction site.

The multi-functional office and recreational complex Federation Tower is set to become one of the most prestigious and impressive office buildings in Moscow and the tallest building in Europe. It will be 354m high (448m including the spire).

The project has an international character, putting Russian business interests in touch with international experience in high-rise construction. It applies the latest advancements in engineering technology, using the materials of the highest quality. The building will consist of two towers ("A" and "B") of different heights (62 and 93 stories high), with a common foundation and podium.

The BAS system of tower "B" will consist of many building automation protocols, but the management level will be on BACnet. This is the necessary condition for "A" tower also.

Now the tender for "A" tower is in the final stage. On the 27th of November, 2006 the winner for whole engineering equipment (including BAS) will be announced.

Obviously after the tender we will see some new brand names on this poster.

The excursion started from the head-office of MIRAX GROUP.

Pavel Peka from MIRAX GROUP (left) explained who will occupy the "Federation" tower. For example, in the "B" tower (small one) the blue lighted levels belong to the VneshtorgBank (2d federal Russian bank).

There will be a technical level above the bank offices and apart-hotels.

The real meeting with "Federation" tower began from the technical level, where we saw installations of HVAC equipments (AHU).

In the heap point you could find only well-known brand names.

.

Then we followed to the 12th floor to see the demo-offices. It is already known that this floor will belong to the bank after commissioning.

Then we rose up the 31st level.

The glazing was finished on this floor.

The "Bolshoi City" project (10 times bigger than "Moscow-City" project) will start near by soon.

The designers kept 15 sm of space below the floor surface for cables and other IT-structures.

We would like to thank the MIRAX GROUP company and Pavel Peka personally for this outstanding excursion.
